Join us in Newcomb on August 15–16, 2026, for The Battle of the Gaps, a Civil War living history event at Overlook Park. Experience authentic Union and Confederate encampments, artillery and infantry demonstrations, cavalry displays, medical portrayals, and civilian camp life as reenactors bring the Civil War era to life.

The weekend will feature battle reenactments inspired by the Battles of South Mountain (Fox's and Turner's Gaps), a guided candlelight walk based on the letters of Pvt. William Wood, and an artillery night-fire demonstration. Visitors can also explore the Seeley Exhibit Hall, featuring a special exhibit on Major Charles F. Pruyn, and enjoy food vendors throughout the event.
