Hike and Toast for the Completion of MacNaughton Cottage

  • Adirondac - Upper Works Co Hwy 25 NY United States (map)

Join the Open Space Institute on Thursday, July 31, at Adirondac Upper Works in Newcomb, NY, for a special celebration marking the completion of the historic MacNaughton Cottage rehabilitation and improvements to the Upper Works Trail—a project over 20 years in the making.

The event begins at 4:30 PM at MacNaughton Cottage on Upper Works Road with a guided, 45-minute interpretive walk through the historic foundations of the Adirondac Village and a short loop hike (0.35 miles) on the newly refurbished trail. The walk concludes back at the Cottage for a celebratory toast and refreshments.

Guests will enjoy a champagne toast led by OSI President and CEO Erik Kulleseid, along with light snacks, as we honor this important milestone in Adirondack conservation and public access.

This initiative enhances safe and welcoming access to the southern High Peaks and breathes new life into a significant piece of American and Adirondack history.

RSVP required by July 25 – Please email Susie Goodell at sgoodell@osiny.org to confirm attendance.
