Fire towers dot the Adirondack and Catskill mountains and are popular hiking destinations for many people. However, have you ever wondered why they are there? Or how they fit into the history of the Adirondack and Catskill parks? Come along on a hike with an AIC Naturalist to the Goodnow fire tower and learn about fire tower history as well as the plants and animals who live on Goodnow Mountain. This hike will be 4 miles round trip with an elevation gain of around 1000ft.
