Highway Department – Salt Supply Update

The Town of Newcomb Highway Department has been notified by our salt supplier that they are temporarily out of salt due to shipping delays. We have been informed that it will be a minimum of two (2+) weeks before Newcomb receives another delivery. To ensure roadway safety, the Highway Department will be conserving its remaining salt supply strictly for use on NYS Route 28N.

Important Notice to Residents:

  • Do NOT take any salt or salt/sand mix from inside the salt shed.

  • The public may take sand only from the large pile located outside of the salt shed.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we manage this temporary supply shortage. For questions, please contact the Town of Newcomb Highway Department.
